PCON, ACON, SCON SINGLE AXIS CONTROLLERS 

  

A New Feature for the PCON is the programmable Position Zone that can be different for each point.  As you can see above, the position table is simple to use to construct a motion profile that is either an absolute move to a specific point, an incremental move in + or - direction (11), set the speed, accel, decel of the move.  You can also vary when the output turns on with the Positioning band (8).  Use the Push (6) to set the amount of force via current the motor puts out with the Position band to set the width of the Push.  Use this to install clips or put assemblies together.  Then set your PZone limits (9) within the Positioning band to verify the final stopping position.  Do the "Poke-I-Yok" (is that how it's spelled?) in the same process.  Or you can use this same technique to approach a danger point with an expensive / delicate tool with light force and sense if you are clear to proceed to the final position. The new PCON controller has several ways to wire the I/O from simple to many points, to teach mode. By simply changing one parameter (25) you can change the function and layout of the I/O.  (Download the I/O Pattern Table to see the choices)  You can even set an idle time-out at which you can set in the parameters, to put the unit to sleep and save more energy / cost of running the machine.
